Profile

Gerald Ong currently leads the Non-Aeronautical Development of Hamad International Airport (HIA), Qatar. Prior to joining HIA, he was with Plaza Premium Group (PPG) as Business Development Director.
He was also with Malaysia Airports for 11 years, last held the role as Senior Manager of Business Development, focusing on positioning and growth of Malaysia Airports business internationally. Gerald was part of the investment team that completed the full acquisition of Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (ISG) in Turkiye, first Asian company to fully own a European airport. Following integration of ISG into Malaysia Airports group, Gerald held the role of Aviation Marketing and Cargo Director from April 2018 to September 2020.
